A Local Legacy Finds New Owners
Harvey’s Hot Buttered Rum:
A Local Legacy Finds New Owners

After 23 years, Stacy Ryan passes a beloved local business to a new family, with help from Mary Wynn and Kris Wilson.
When you live and work in a community, certain names feel like part of its history. Harvey’s Hot Buttered Rum is one of them. Its signature product has been known locally since 1952, and Stacy Ryan has owned the business for the past 23 years. During that time, she built on its reputation and expanded into a couple of popcorn brands.
When Stacy was ready to retire, being asked to represent Harvey’s meant a great deal to me. This was a business people in our own community know and love. Kris Wilson and I understood that finding a buyer was about more than completing a sale. We wanted Stacy to feel confident about who would carry it forward.
We found that family before the listing ever went to market. The buyers are a husband and wife team, and their adult children have already jumped in to help. Seeing their enthusiasm for Harvey’s made this an especially rewarding closing.
Stacy and her husband are avid boaters, and they recently spent three months traveling in their boat alongside friends in a couple of other boats. They had the time of their lives. After 23 years of owning this business, I’m delighted that Stacy can head into retirement and make room for more adventures like that.
It was a privilege for Kris and me to represent Stacy and help place a local favorite in the hands of a family excited for its future. Congratulations to Stacy and to the new owners of Harvey’s Hot Buttered Rum.
Cheers!
